How to Use BMX Race Hub
📍 Track Finder
Browse 310+ BMX tracks across Canada and the USA. Filter by country, province/state, indoor/outdoor type, or use Near Me to find tracks within a GPS radius. Tap any track row to expand its detail card — website, directions, condition, notices, and leaderboard all load inline.
📌 Fix a Track Pin
If a track's map location looks wrong, sign in and tap Fix Pin inside the track's detail card. A map opens centred on the current pin — click anywhere to drop a corrected pin, then tap Save. Your submission is averaged with other riders' corrections over time, so the pin gradually self-corrects without any admin needed.
📈 Track Conditions
Report and view current track conditions — Open, Closed, or Wet/Muddy. No account needed to report. Each track shows only the most recent condition so the info stays current. Include optional notes and your name.
🔔 Track Notices
Expand any track in Track Finder or your saved favourites to see active notices — events, fundraisers, announcements. Sign in to post a notice for an unclaimed track; once a club claims its track, only the club posts its announcements. Set an expiry date and it disappears automatically.
🏠 Home Race & claiming your track
Set your home track (in Profile, or the + pill on the Home Race tab) to see your club's announcements, conditions, race calendar, and volunteer sheets together. To claim your track: open the Home Race tab and tap Claim this track for your club. If you sign in with an email on the track's official website domain you're approved instantly; otherwise the request is reviewed by the hub team. Once claimed, the club runs its own volunteer sheets, confirms attendance on race day, and manages the season volunteer bond.
📅 Race Calendar
Full 2026 schedule for UCI, BMX Canada, Cycling Canada, and USA BMX (Nationals, Gold Cup, State, Canada BMX). Filter by series. Tap the 📅 icon on any event to download it to your phone or computer calendar. Tap to share a branded image card of the event to social media or messaging apps.
⏱ Lap Times
Sign in free to log lap times at any track. Record date, class, gender, and whether to share publicly. Your best times appear grouped by track in My Profile. Tap on any time to share a branded lap time card.
🏅 Public Leaderboard
See the top 10 fastest public times at any track, split by gender category — all time or this week. Expand a track card in Track Finder to view its leaderboard. All times are community-submitted and unverified, for fun only.
⭐ Saved Favourites
Tap the star on any track or the heart on any brand to save it. Saved tracks and brands appear in My Profile. Favourite track cards show the same full detail as Track Finder — conditions, notices, and leaderboard included.
🔔 Push Notifications
Two types, both opt-in in My Profile. Race Reminders send a push notification before upcoming race weekends based on your day and time preference. Home Track Notices alert you the moment a new notice is posted at your saved home track — works even when the app is closed.
🏆 Achievements
Earn badges by logging times, hitting milestones, and making your first public leaderboard submission. Badges unlock automatically and appear in My Profile.
🏪 Store Finder
Browse 504 local shops across the USA and Canada that carry BMX race bikes and parts. Filter by country and province/state, or tap Near Me to find stores sorted by distance from your location. Each listing links directly to the shop's website.
🛒 Brands, Gear & Bike Guides
Brands by Country covers 43 active BMX race frame brands across 9 countries. Parts & Components highlights top component makers. Rider Gear covers helmets, gloves, pants, and jerseys with direct shop links. Full Bike Guide recommends complete bikes by budget from beginner to elite, with a Bike Sizing Guide to match rider height to frame size.
📱 Install as an App
BMX Race Hub works as a Progressive Web App. On Android, tap Add to Home Screen from Chrome's menu. On iPhone, tap the Share button in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. Once installed it opens full-screen like a native app and loads faster.

BMX Race Sizing Guide
A practical guide to choosing the right BMX race equipment — frame size, cranks, gearing, handlebars, and wheels. Developed by EVE — Elite Velocity Enterprises. Bookmark this page — you'll come back to it every time your rider grows or upgrades.
Frame Sizing
Choosing the Right Frame
BMX frame sizes are labeled by category — Mini, Junior, Expert, Pro — but actual dimensions vary between brands. Always check the real top tube measurement, not just the label. An Expert-size Meybo Holeshot (19.7") and an Expert-size Sunn Prince (19.3") are noticeably different on the track.
Don't size up. It's tempting to buy bigger so the rider can grow into it, but a frame that's too large is harder to handle and will hold your rider back. Fit for now, not for two years from now.

Crank Sizing
Crank Length
Cranks that are too long cause the rider's hips to rock side to side while pedaling — making pedaling less efficient and harder to control. Pedaling should feel smooth and fast. Use this formula to find the ideal crank length:
Inseam (inches) ÷ 0.173 = Ideal crank length (mm)
Example: A rider with a 30" inseam → 30 ÷ 0.173 = 173mm → choose 170mm or 175mm. If still growing, go with the longer option.
  • Always measure inseam with racing shoes on for accuracy
  • Longer cranks give more power off the start but limit top cadence
  • If your rider is spinning out at high speed, try shorter cranks
  • Top elite riders typically use 170–175mm regardless of height
Gearing
Gear Inches by Class
Gearing should match your rider's strength, cadence ability, and style. Use the lowest (easiest) gear your rider can manage at high cadences without spinning out — this gives the fastest acceleration while still maintaining top-end speed.
ClassRecommended Gear InchesNotes
Micro45 – 47 giKeep it easy — cadence over power
Mini47 – 49 giLight gearing builds speed habits early
Junior49 – 52 giTransitional range as strength develops
Expert51 – 53 giStarting to approach adult range
Pro52 – 55 giTop adult riders typically 53–55 gi
Calculate your gear inches: Use the free calculator at bmxultra.com/gear-calculator — plug in your sprocket, rear cog, and wheel size to find your exact gear inches.
Handlebars
Bar Height & Width
Bar rise typically ranges from 3" to 8". The right choice depends on the rider's height and frame size. A well-sized bar transfers power more effectively through rhythm sections and helps the rider stay in an athletic position through corners.
  • Rider's hands should sit about shoulder-width apart on the grips
  • Bars that are too wide can be cut down — this is common practice
  • Some bars have maximum weight limits for smaller/lighter models — always check
  • Too much rise = less efficient power transfer off the gate
  • Too little rise = cramped position that limits control in corners
Rider Stance
Q-Factor & Foot Stance
Q-factor is the total width from the outside of one crank arm to the other. What matters is matching it to your rider's natural foot stance — shoulder-width apart. Too wide loses power; too narrow loses stability in corners.
  • Match stance to how the rider naturally stands — feet shoulder-width apart
  • Adjust using different combinations of bottom brackets, crank arms, and pedal spacers
  • Feet too far apart = power loss
  • Feet too close together = instability, especially in corners
Wheels & Tires
Wheel & Tire Selection
Do not use a tire that is too narrow for the rider's weight. Tires that are too thin won't offer enough support and can affect safety — especially during hard landings.
  • Challenge (standard) bikes use 20" wheels; Cruisers use 24" wheels
  • Heavier riders or aggressive jumpers should use a wider tire for better support
  • Not all tires labeled the same size are actually the same — check the ISO size
  • Fractional-sized tires (1-3/8") fit larger diameter rims than decimal tires (1.5") — even if they sound similar
  • Always verify ISO size to ensure proper fit before ordering

Founded by BMX pioneer Scot Breithaupt. The PK Ripper became the longest-running and most famous BMX bike ever. Brand sold to Advanced Sports International (ASI) and renamed SE Bikes.

WSI originally imported Centurion road bikes before their BMX effort became the Diamondback name. Now primarily a lifestyle and mountain bike brand.
GT Acquired Robinson + Powerlite + Dyno
Gary Turner's GT became a BMX conglomerate in the 1990s. Many frames were identical bikes with different decals. Eventually passed to Schwinn, Pacific Cycle, Dorel, and Pon Holdings.
Torker Built original Haro frames
Before Haro became independent, the very first Haro freestyle frames were manufactured by Torker — a little-known but important piece of BMX history.
FMF / Flying Machine Factory Race Inc.
Many iconic FMF alloy frames were actually designed and built by Bill Bastian at Race Inc., leading to significant confusion in the vintage market to this day.
Yess BMX Hydrogen BMX
